My name is Amy, and I am the owner and practitioner for Soundness in Motion Animal Therapy. I am a Certified Equine Myo-Manipulative Functional Therapist (Equine Massage), Certified Equine Kinesiology Tape Practitioner, and a Certified Animal Cold Laser Therapist.
As a certified animal bodyworker in multiple methods my goal is to help your Large or small animal perform and feel its best. I am able to recommend different methods to achieve our desired results and healing. If you are seeking performance based preventative therapies or wellness and healing from injuries, I am an integral member of your pet or animal sports athlete health care team. I bring knowledge, honesty, professionalism, and a love of animals to serve your sports medicine needs.
I am a life-long Equestrian Competitor in the Hunter, Equitation, and Jumper disciplines. Some of my most notable Show accomplishments are Champion CFHJA Adult Amateur Jumpers and 5th in the USEF Zone 4 Adult Amateur Jumpers, with my heart horse, Chivas Z. I have traveled the East Coast competing at many top rated show circuits such as WEF, Lake Placid, Vermont, HITS, and The Capital Challenge. Throughout my life I have also had many canine companions that I have cared for of varying large and small breeds. Outside of the horse and dog realm of life I have been a successful entrepreneur and business owner for the past 12 years with 7-Eleven, Inc. and other large format retail brands.
Besides caring for your beloved Equine and Canine friends I spend my time with my family. Together we enjoy the great outdoors as much as we can, at the beach, barn, or wherever life takes us.
As a certified Myo-Manipulative Functional Therapist, I utilize my hands and tools to help manipulate the horses muscles to restore proper function to the body. There are many benefits to equine massage including improved circulation, improved movement and reduction of pain and stress responses, draining of lymph fluids, stretching connective tissues and reduced stiffness, and last but not least improves the attitude and mood of the horse. These benefits allow for faster healing, promotes optimal athleticism, and can decrease the chance of some injuries.
*includes BEMER session
The BEMER Horse-Set improves suppleness during training or when preparing for competitions. It can also provide valuable support during the healing process, including recovery from muscle tension or tendon/ligament/muscle injury. Remember, the BEMER Horse-Set does not replace treatment and care of an injury or disease by a veterinarian. A veterinarian should be consulted prior to use of the BEMER Horse-Set for any medical condition.
